HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Sidley Austin, LLP, a global law firm, has expanded its offices in Wells Fargo Plaza, 1000 Louisiana Street in downtown Houston.

The firm has signed a long-term lease renewal and expansion in the 71-story tower, which was developed by Century Development.

“We’ve doubled our size in Houston over the last several years by adding exceptionally talented associates and partners who were very sought-after in this market,” said Kevin Lewis, co-managing partner of Sidley’s Houston office. “That created a good problem: we ran out of office space. This expansion adds approximately 30,000 additional square feet to accommodate our exceptional growth, and we are planning a redesigned office that will be stunning.”

Sidley currently occupies 50,000 SF. The firm will have a total of 80,000 SF with this expansion. The expansion includes the 59th floor ‘sky lobby’ featuring double-height ceilings, which gives Sidley a new and dramatic entry to its offic

Kevin Kushner, senior vice president with CBRE and a member of the company’s Law Firm Practice Group, represented Sidley in the transaction with Todd Lippman and James Whalen from CBRE’s Chicago office.

The Wells Fargo Plaza leasing team is comprised of Bonnie Kelley-Dienna and Dave Hanusa CBRE.

The Wells Fargo Plaza building opened in 1983. It was designed by architect Richard Keating when he was with Skidmore Owings and Merrill.
