HOUSTON – Construction has begun in Grandway West, one of the first major commercial developments on a new stretch of the Grand Parkway west of Houston in Katy, Texas. The site is just west of the Energy Corridor where many energy companies have offices.
Grandway West will be a 56-acre corporate office development consisting of five buildings totaling 780,000 square feet. Transwestern Executive Vice President Eric Anderson, Senior Vice President Paul Wittorf and Associate Broker Parker Burkett will lease the property on behalf of the owner, a joint venture between InSite Realty LP and Urban Construction Southwest Inc.
Transwestern’s Houston headquarters on Tuesday announced it has been selected as the exclusive leasing agent for the project. “Grandway West is a great opportunity for office users to move into newly constructed space at a highly competitive price,” said Wittorf.
The office park is located on “Segment E” of the Grand Parkway. Segment E, which opened in December of 2013, connects Interstate 10 (the Katy Freeway) with U.S. Highway 290.
“We are excited construction has commenced on the first of five Class A office buildings at Grandway West,” said Kris Van Norman, principal/partner at InSite. “The early leasing momentum affirms our purchase of this site where high-quality companies can office at a reasonable price in a controlled business environment in the rapidly growing West Houston/Katy area.”
Located at 1904 W. Grand Parkway N., Grandway West is strategically situated on the Grand Parkway and is approximately one mile north of Interstate 10 at Franz Road. This location provides easy access to both thoroughfares and direct visibility and exposure from the Grand Parkway.
Currently under construction, Building I totals 83,912 square feet and is nearly 40 percent preleased, Transwestern said. It is scheduled for delivery in December 2014.
The Grand Parkway, a far-outer loop to the built on the outskirts of Houston, is also known as Highway 99.
