Major Industrial Sale Reported in Baytown, Texas

BAYTOWN, Texas – CenterPoint Properties proudly announces the acquisition of four buildings totaling 1.2 million square feet at Cedar Crossing industrial park in Baytown, just east of Houston.

The four buildings are capable of processing and packaging plastic resin and are fully occupied by Exel Logistics. This acquisition brings CenterPoint’s portfolio in Houston to 2.5 million square feet. . Billy Gold and Tom Lynch of CBRE, represented CenterPoint in the transaction. Josh McArtor of CBRE represented the seller.

CenterPoint said that Cedar Crossing is the world’s fifth largest industrial park, located across the Houston Ship Channel from the Barbours Cut and Bayport container terminals. Cedar Crossing has 56 miles of rail with storage capacity of 1,750 rail cars and a barge dock. Both Union Pacific and Burlington-Santa Fe railroads provide rail service to the park. facilities in the world.

“Cedar Crossing Industrial Park offers several attractive logistical advantages and close proximity to major shipping lanes,” remarked vice president, investments of CenterPoint Properties, Chris Tecu. “Acquiring four facilities strategically located with adjacency to Interstate10, State Highways 225 and 146, direct rail access to both Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroads, and the barge terminal within the park, are all features that drive our mission to locate in primary markets, accommodating port-related customers with strategically located and highly functional facilities.”
