Neuropsychiatric Hospitals’ new 92-bed facility is a development of Medistar Corporation in the Clear Lake submarket of Houston.

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Medistar Corp., a Houston-based real estate firm, is developing a 92-bed psychiatric hospital in Clear Lake City in southeast Houston, near NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

The project, called Medical Behavioral Hospital of Clear Lake, which will be operated by NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals.

Located at 16850 Buccaneer Lane, the hospital is now under construction and scheduled to open in mid-2020. The site is near the intersection of Bay Area Boulevard and El Camino Real.

At full operation, the hospital is projected to have up to 200 employees and approximately 18 providers in psychiatry, internal medicine and neurology.

“I am excited to announce we are expanding our Medical/Neuropsychiatric services to this new hospital in the growing Clear Lake Area of Houston, Texas. Focusing on patient needs and our hospital system’s clinical strengths have been the driving factors for this expansion,” said Dr. Cameron Gilbert, chairman of the South Bend, Ind.-based NPH organization.

The Clear Lake City facility will be NPH’s sixth hospital and among only a select number of hospitals nationwide that focus on treating patients with psychiatric issues who also suffer with complex medical and/or neurological conditions.

Medistar, a firm founded by Monzer Hourani, has developed a number of medical, multifamily and hospitality properties around the nation. At the Texas Medical Center, Medistar recently completed the 35-story, 374-unit Latitude multifamily tower and the 22-story InterContinental Houston, a 353-room hotel on Main Street.
