HOUSTON – Phillips 66 broke ground Friday on its 1.1 million sf headquarters campus in the Westchase District in West Houston, where a large number of energy companies have offices. The project is being built on 14 acres on the west side of the Sam Houston Tollway, just north of Westheimer, at the corner of City West Blvd. and City Place.

The new campus facility, when completed in 2016, will house over 2,000 Phillips 66 employees in multiple buildings equipped with fitness facilities and other employee amenities.

Phillips 66 joins a long list of major energy firms that are building new facilities in Houston including Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Anadarko, Noble Energy, Southwestern Energy, ConocoPhillips, and BHP Billiton.

The Cameron International oilfield firm recently bought 22 acres about a mile north of the Phillips 66 site. Cameron s expected to build a 1 million-sf headquarters and corporate campus.

Phillips 66 has 13,500 employees and $51 billion in assets.
