HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Spaces, a co-working provider from Amsterdam, has leased 53,000 SF in Post Oak Central for a co-working facility, located on Post Oak Boulevard, just north of the Galleria.

Spaces will occupy the first three floors of Two Post Oak Central, owned by Parkway Property Investments. Spaces will open in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Parkway was represented by Amanda Nebel and Eric Siegrist, and Spaces was represented by Kevin Saxe, Kevin Kushner and Mike Cleary of CBRE.

Among the special features of the build-out are a ground-floor reception area with an internal stairwell, numerous meeting areas for Spaces members, and a private, 1,700-SF landscaped terrace.

The Post Oak Central facility will be Spaces’ second location in Houston, following an inaugural site in Midway’s Kirby Grove office building on Richmond Avenue next to Levy Park. Spaces also operates two co-working facilities in the Dallas area.

Developed by Hines, Post Oak Central was designed by legendary architect Philip Johnson and John Burgee. The 17-acre office park encompasses three, 24-story Class A office towers totaling 1.2 million square feet with ground floor retail. The Two Post Oak Central building was completed in 1979. One Post Oak Central was completed in 1975 and Three Post Oak Central was completed in 1982.

According to Nebel, Post Oak Central’s Leasing Manager, Spaces members will benefit from the building’s assets, which include an activated central green, a state-of-the-art conference center, a fitness center, restaurants, and a child care center.

“Houston is rising in the ranks as a top city for entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. We are excited to expand our footprint in the area and provide a flexible working environment that gives companies of all sizes the opportunity to thrive and build connections,” said Michael Berretta, Vice President of Network Development for IWG, which owns Spaces. “Whenever we consider a new location, we prioritize the things most important to our members – a dynamic neighborhood, convenient transportation, and robust amenities. The Post Oak Central location fit all the criteria and was an ideal spot for our next Houston opening.”

Spaces members can access IWG’s global portfolio, which includes over 3,000 locations around the world.

Parkway is a privately owned real estate investment firm with 12.6 million SF of office properties located in Sacramento, Houston, Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville and Raleigh.
