St. Regis Condos Rising at River Oaks

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – The upscale St. Regis Residences brand is breaking into the Houston market with a proposed 35-story condominium which will be situated on four acres with views of River Oaks, Memorial Park, Downtown and Buffalo Bayou.

The developer is Satya, a Houston-based commercial real estate firm that is currently developing the Tiara on the Beach condominiums in Galveston.

The St. Regis Residences, Houston, will rise on Asbury Place, just north of Buffalo Bayou and the blue-chip River Oaks neighborhood.

St. Regis is a brand affiliated with a luxury branch of the Marriott hotel organization. The condominium is the brand’s first, exclusive residential development in Texas.

The St. Regis Residences, Houston comes right of the heels of the Ritz Carlton Residences, Woodlands – another upscale hotel brand that is jumping into the condominium business in Houston.

Downsize From a Mansion to a Luxe Condo

The sales rationale is obvious. River Oaks and The Woodlands have a large affluent population of aging Baby Boomers, a huge cohort of Americans born in the post-World War II era. As they have become empty-nesters, many Boomer couples no longer want a 5,000-SF single-family home. A well-appointed 2,500-SF condo will do. Sales prices over $1,000 per SF – no problem.

“The St. Regis Residences, Houston represent the best address in the heart of the coveted River Oaks community,” said Sarah Khalifa, VP, Mixed-Use Development, Marriott International.

The St. Regis’s prime location is in walking distance to cultural and recreational destinations including Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens and Memorial Park. Adjacency to River Oaks and Lazy Lane Boulevard, and the secluded nature of the project’s southern triangle, will elevate the resident experience.

“We are proud to collaborate with Marriott International to launch The St. Regis Residences, Houston,” said Sunny Bathija, CEO of Satya. “The St. Regis brand is known globally for its unrivaled level of luxury, its innovation and commitment to impeccable service. I have had the privilege of ownership at the Marriott’s branded residences in Sunny Isles Beach Miami and am excited to share the legendary St. Regis lifestyle with fellow Texans.”

Architecture by Pickard Chilton

The development team inclues: Pickard Chilton, design architect; Kirksey, project architect; ForrestPerkins, interior designer; Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, sales and marketing. Groundbreaking is anticipated for 2025 with completion slated for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Owners will receive St. Regis global membership privileges including gold star butler services to attend to every resident’s needs, a full-time concierge, doorman and valet parking. The development is will include condo residences only with no hotel rooms.

Satya’s portfolio includes the Sophie at Bayou Bend, Giorgetti Houston, Westmore, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Houston Medical Center Greater Houston area. The St. Regis Residences, Houston are not owned, developed or sold by Marriott International, Inc., or its affiliates SR Luxury Condominium, LTD uses the St. Regis marks under a license from Marriott.
