DALLAS – The 19-story Statler Hotel and Residences in downtown Dallas will be renovated and open in 2016 with Hilton’s Curio brand.
Opening in 1956, the original Statler Hilton boasted many firsts for the hotel industry, including elevator music and custom 21″ Westinghouse TV sets in every room.
The developer, Centurion American Development Group, plans 161 hotel rooms on the lower floors and 219 condo residences on the top 11 floors. The Statler is located on Commerce Street near Neiman Marcus.
Hilton’s Curio brand was initiated last year, focusing on unique or boutique properties.
