HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Colliers International reports 26 industrial buildings are under construction in Fort Bend County on the southwest side of the Houston area.

In recent years, a number of large distribution projects have been constructed near Highway 90 and the Sam Houston Parkway, Beltway 8 area in Fort Bend County.

Colliers reported 668,000 SF of industrial inventory was delivered in Fort Bend in the third quarter as the vacancy rate increased to 6.8 percent.

The largest project currently being built is a 250,000 SF project in the Wayport Business Park in Missouri City.

As the Fort Bend industrial trend emerged, one of the largest industrial developments to be started was 127-acre Park 8Ninety by Trammell Crow and Artis REIT at the intersection of Beltway 8 and Highway 90. The project was started in 2015.

Hines also developed an industrial park at Beltway 8 at the Fort Bend Tollway.
