HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – MetroNational is developing a 25-story residential tower and a 9-story office building in its Memorial City development along the Katy Freeway in West Houston.
The building will be located on four acres at the southwest corner of Bunker Hill Road and the Katy Freeway. The property is one of the last remaining undeveloped corner tracts in the Katy Freeway corridor between 610 and Beltway 8, said MetroNational, a Houston firm that built the 265-acre Memorial City mixed-use development over the years.
The 25-story residential apartment tower named The McKinley Memorial City at 9757 Katy Freeway, recently broke ground. It will be completed in the summer of 2021.
The 332,231-SF apartment building will be comprised of 278 units in one, two, three-bedroom and penthouse configurations, some with their own private yards. Extensive first-class amenities include a resort-style rooftop pool with cabanas, as well as a wave bar, golf simulator, movie theater, chef’s kitchen, state-of-the-art fitness center, dog park, bike storage, resident horizon lounge and wine bar with wine lockers. Unit features include quartz countertops, gas ranges and stainless-steel appliances.
The architecture and interiors are being designed by Ziegler Cooper Architects; General Contractor is Anslow Bryant; and the fee developer is Slate Real Estate Development.
The residential building will have 4,500 SF of retail and restaurants at street level.
A 190,000 SF, 9-story, Class A office building at 9753 Katy Freeway, is being designed by Kirksey.
Groundbreaking is anticipated in Q1 2020 with project completion for summer 2021. The office building is planning to achieve LEED Silver Certification.
The office building will have street-level retail and 21,000-sf floor plates.
