Waterfront Hotel Tops Out in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A Texas team reached a construction milestone with the topping out of the SpringHills Suites New Braunfels River Village, a 150-room hotel on the banks of the Guadalupe River.

The eight-story Hill Country hotel, located at 738 IH 35 North, is a development of Oldham Goodwin, a commercial real estate firm based in Bryan/College Station. Houston-based Arch-Con Corp. is building the hotel, which was designed by Niles Bolton Associates as a contemporary riverfront retreat with boat docks along the river.

“It is exciting to see the project taking shape and our vision becoming a reality,” said Oldham Goodwin Vice President of Development Services Chris Rhodes. “We are proud to celebrate this milestone alongside our entire project team, including Niles Bolton Associates, Arch-Con Corporation and their talented consultants and subcontractors who have helped bring us to this point. This SpringHill Suites will set a new standard for hospitality in New Braunfels, offering thoughtful design and amenities that serve both our guests and the local community.”

The new SpringHills Suites adds to more than 2,000 hotel rooms in the New Braunfels area, which is home to tourist attractions such as Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Wurstfest, Gruene Music & Wine Fest, and the Texas Clay Festival.

The 150,000-SF hotel features a range of suites with balconies overlooking the river, a two-tier resort-style pool, poolside cabanas and food and beverage service, a firepit, lounge areas, and paths leading to the river. Inside, the first floor has more than 14,000 SF of bar, lounge, and grab-and-go retail areas. The hotel will offer 4,400 SF of event space, a fitness center, and business center.

Fort Worth-based celebrity chef Tim Love will open Tex-Mex concept Paloma Suerte as the hotel’s signature restaurant. Love also operates Lonesome Dove, Love Shack, Woodshed Smokehouse, and other restaurants, largely located in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

“I couldn’t be more excited to introduce the second version of Paloma Suerte to such a fun and vibrant community,” Tim Love said. “New Braunfels is the perfect fit for Paloma. It’s hard to imagine a better place to sip a killer margarita, enjoy some amazing queso, and dive into birria tacos than on a patio overlooking the water.”

In Fort Worth, Oldham Goodwin incorporated another Tim Love restaurant, Atico, at its SpringHill Suites Fort Worth Historic Stockyards development. That hotel was also built by Arch-Con and designed by Niles Bolton Associates.

With 700 feet of river frontage, the SpringHills Suites New Braunfels River Village is expected to open in early 2027. Next door, Oldham Goodwin owns and operates the Courtyard by Marriott New Braunfels River Village, which will connect by pathway to the new hotel.

“Celebrating a topping out is very important to Arch-Con,” Arch-Con Senior Vice President of Hospitality Michael Vaughn said. “It is a time when a project’s structure reaches its highest point and, most importantly, a time to thank everyone on the job for their hard work and diligence to the project. It is my favorite milestone, other than a successfully completed project.”
