DALLAS – Windrose Tower at Legacy West, a proposed 24-story condominium project is slated for 2016 groundbreaking in the Legacy West development in Plano.

The Legacy West project is the site of major new corporate campuses by Toyota, FedEx Office and Liberty Mutual Insurance. Situated at the intersection of Windrose Avenue and Headquarters Drive, Windrose Tower also will be near the existing corporate headquarters of Frito-Lay, JCPenney, Yum! Brands, Ericsson and Beal Bank

Some 50 percent of the Windrose residential space is already reserved by homeowners, said Plano developer Jim Duggan, who formed Windrose Condominiums LLC and has partnered with Ted Bradford, Mark Bradford, Ron Gafford and LJ Erickson to co-develop Windrose Tower.

“This sophisticated contemporary tower is a spectacular addition to Legacy West and is an important asset to this area,” says Jim Duggan. “In addition to local residents who have been asking for a luxury high-rise product, we saw the demand increase exponentially with the announcement of Toyota, Liberty Mutual and FedEx Office moving to the area. The high-rise condo plan quickly moved from important to imperative when those announcements were made.”

The residences at Windrose Tower will range from 1,272 square feet for a one-bedroom to 11,000 divisible square feet for the penthouse level. There are seven floor plans for the homes ranging from 1,272 square feet to 3,400 square feet. Architectural designs are currently underway by GDA Architects for the residences ranging from 3,700 square feet to 6,700 square feet.

A 300-room, $82 million Renaissance Hotel, 280,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, over 600 apartments and 265,000 square feet of additional multi-tenant office space is currently under construction in Legacy West in addition to the new office space at the Toyota, FedEx Office and Liberty Mutual campuses. Approximately 22,000 new jobs will be located in the 240-acre Legacy West development within two years.

“Our vision for the Legacy West development is to become the most exciting and vibrant mixed-use development in the country,” said Legacy West’s developer, Fehmi Karahan. “An important keystone of the plan for our community is to have a luxury high-rise condominium which will be the choice of high-end living for the thousands of executives and professionals employed in Legacy West. The demand for the residences at Windrose Tower is unprecedented, and we haven’t yet broken ground.”

Al Coker & Associates, a marketing and sales firm has been retained for the condo project.
