The Earthman Funeral Home building in Bellaire, Texas, has been sold.

BELLAIRE, Texas – The United Equities firm of Houston has acquired the Earthman Funeral Home property in Bellaire and an adjoining retail center. The 10,500-SF funeral home building, located at 6700 Ferris, just north of Bissonnet Street, is being redeveloped.

Doug Freedman of United Equities said two tenants have leased space in the former Earthman building: Define workout and yoga studio and an independent restaurant called “401.” The restaurant is named for ZIP code for Bellaire – 77401 – a postal district with an affluent average household income of $227,530.

Founded in 1971, United Equities, which has represented the Fiesta grocery chain in many deals, has a 3 million-SF portfolio of retail, industrial and office properties in Houston, Dallas and Austin.

photo-83The Earthman site is about two blocks from the H-E-B-anchored retail center which will be torn down and replaced with a larger two-story H-E-B.
