NAREE Conference to Draw Journalists and Industry Experts to Miami

MIAMI – (Realty News Report) – The National Association of Real Estate Editors is presenting its 55th Annual Real Estate Journalism Conference in Miami Dec. 7-10.

NAREE’s conference, which begins Tuesday morning Dec. 7 at the Kimpton Epic hotel, will attract scores of journalists from major newspapers and prestigious publications from around the nation. The conference will feature newsworthy speakers covering commercial and residential real estate topics, office buildings, architecture, hotels, mortgage lending, mixed-use development, single-family investing, vacation properties and the rapidly accelerating build-to-rent trend.

Insightful speakers will include Gilda Perez-Alvarado, Global CEO of JLL Hotels & Hospitality; Sean Black, CEO of Knock; Jorge Perez and Jon Paul Perez of Related Group, Todd Wood, CEO of Christopher Todd Communities; Lenny Beaudoin, CBRE Global Lead of Workplace, Design, OccupancyAdam Ducker, CEO of RCLCO; Richard Ross, CEO of Quinn Residences; and Marilee Utter, chair of the Counselors of Real Estate.

NAREE’s newsworthy conference programming also will feature several chief economists including: Lawrence Yun, National Association of Realtors, Frank Nothaft, CoreLogic; and Michael Fratantoni, Mortgage Bankers Association.

The conference content typically generates hundreds of news articles, blog posts and social media mentions from some of the nation’s most prominent publications.

Mid-career journalism training will be offered at NAREE University twice daily. NU’s peer-to-peer professional development program is designed to equip journalists to deal with evolving journalism practices and real estate investigative reporting. Workshop panelists include journalists from The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Miami Herald, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, Orange County Register, and The Real Deal.

NAREE’s “Intersection of Art and Real Estate Tour” will inspire journalists walking along the vibrant streetscape of Miami’s Wynwood District. Another highlight of the conference includes NAREE’s Meet the Press, a popular speed networking event with one-on-one, three-minute appointments.

The Miami agenda also features the prestigious awards program for NAREE’s 71st Annual Journalism Competition and the 14th annual Bruss Real Estate Book Awards luncheon.
