Tower Tops Out Near River Oaks

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – High Street Residential and joint venture partner Daiwa House topped out construction on the Rone Residences, a 12-story multifamily project near River Oaks and Upper Kirby.

The developers broke ground on the 209-unit project in January of 2023 and are on schedule to deliver the first units during the first quarter of 2025.

High Street’s Rone Residences project is a collaboration of prominent Houston-based design groups with national-level gravitas: the project architect, Ziegler Cooper Architects, worked closely with Rottet Studio for interior design and Kudela & Weinheimer Landscape Architects designed the exterior landscapes. Hoar Construction is the project’s general contractor.

The development is located on Westheimer Road just east of Kirby Drive.

The Upper Kirby district has a significant collection of high-rise residential with restraurants and retail, and is considered one of the most walkable urban neighborhoods in the city.

“Our Rone Residences development is at a superlative location in Houston – at the convergence of two of the city’s most prestigious neighborhoods, where walkability and convenience is top of mind for current and future residents,” said Yewande Fapohunda of the Houston office of High Street, the residential subsidiary of Trammell Crow Co.

Rone Residences will boast a WalkScore of 92., allowing residents to be directly proximate to retail, including a Whole Foods.

Rone Residences will offer a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with large layouts that average more than 1,400 SF, offering residents a boutique and condo-quality environment. Penthouse units will also be available.

The residences also provide features for residents to live a sustainable lifestyle, offering EV charging and energy efficient plumbing and lighting fixtures.

Rone Residences has a 2,900-SF retail space on the ground floor.

Additional project partners include Jordan & Skala Engineering, VSM-Squared Structural Engineers, Kimley Horn, and Jackson Walker LLP. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited is providing construction financing. Daiwa House Group, the largest single-family home builder in Japan, has extensive investments in the U.S.

High Street Residential and Daiwa House Group have also joined forces to develop multifamily in Kingwood.
