HOUSTON – The Houston District Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) has named David Kim as executive director. Kim succeeds Ann Taylor, who served as executive director from 2008 to 2015.
“We are delighted to announce David’s appointment,” said Carleton Riser, president of Transwestern Development Company and ULI Houston District Council chair. “David brings to the role over ten years of real estate experience, a keen understanding of Houston’s unique strengths and challenges, and a passion for member service.”
Kim will collaborate with ULI Houston District Council and ULI to develop and execute strategies and activities to inform the discussion regarding local and regional development issues and land use policies. He will build upon ULI Houston District Council’s vibrant program of work that includes the Real Estate Trends Conference, Development of Distinction Awards Dinner, and technical assistance panels.
Kim joins ULI Houston from the City of Houston, where he served as deputy assistant director of the Housing and Community Development Department.
A native Houstonian, Kim has built an extensive track record of local civic engagement. He serves as president of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce and previously served as treasurer of Houston Habitat for Humanity.
