HOUSTON (Realty News Report)– MLB Capital Partners announced the opening of Junior’s Produce at the Houston Farmers Market on Airline Drive near The Heights.
MLB Capital Partners – a Houston firm led by Todd Mason, Jeff Lindenberger and Fred Baca – is redeveloping the landmark Farmers Market, which opened in 1942.
Junior’s Produce is a Houstonian-owned and operated produce retailer offering local, Texas produce along with fresh farm-grown goods from across the U.S. In addition to fruits and vegetables, the grocer will also offer beans, preserves, herbs, nuts, pecans, fresh-squeezed juices and an assortment of organic produce
“This is a lifelong dream come true,” said Junior Saldaña, Owner, Junior’s Produce. “I have worked in many areas of the industry, including large format grocery stores and specialty health food stores, and this is the perfect opportunity to begin my own venture. I look forward to offering my customers a unique shopping experience that combines the cost-effective operations of a big-name grocer with the attention to detail and customer service of a specialty retailer.”
“Junior is a local Houstonian boasting more than 30 years of industry experience,” said Todd Mason, Principal, MLB Capital Partners. “He brings great talent and passion to his operation and we are thrilled to have him at the farmers market.”
Junior’s Produce occupies space previously occupied by Canino’s Produce at The Houston Farmers Market. Junior’s Produce is located at 2520 Airline Drive and will open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Plans are underway to transform the Houston Farmers Market into a destination retail experience offering more diversified products, renovated facilities and community programming. In May 2017, MLB Capital Partners purchased the 17.67-acre property in the east side of The Heights from The Farmers’ Marketing Association of Houston Inc.
