Colliers Retained by Southwestern Energy to Advise on Real Estate

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Colliers International has been retained on a multi-year basis as real estate advisor for Southwestern Energy, a  natural gas exploration and production company with a Class A office campus in north Houston.

Southwestern Energy is headquartered in a 300,000 square-foot building in Springwoods Village, a 2,000-acre planned development in northern Harris County. The Class A Southwestern Energy building was developed by the Patrinely Group, a Houston-based real estate development firm.

Charles G. Fertitta, Jr., principal & director, and Chris Nash, vice president, will lead the Colliers International team, which also includes Carrie Prati, as Southwestern Energy evaluates upcoming workplace strategy.

“The drive of SWN’s people to discover new ways to fuel the future is exciting. I knew this was a company we wanted to represent from the first time we were introduced to the Southwestern Energy Formula: ‘The right people, doing the right things, wisely investing the cash flow from the underlying assets, to create value;” said Chris Nash. “Colliers and SWN’s partnership is an outstanding opportunity to incorporate tailored real estate advisory services to make an immediate impact as part of a long term plan.”

Engaged in natural gas, natural gas liquids and oil exploration, development and production, Southwestern Energy is among the largest energy producers in the United States, with primary operations in portions of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the Appalachian Basin.

Southwestern Energy recently announced it has agreed to acquire Montage Resources Corp., an energy firm based in Irving, near Dallas. Montage Resources is an exploration and production company with 195,000 undeveloped acres in the Utica and Marcellus Shales of Southeast Ohio, West Virginia and North Central Pennsylvania.

The Southwestern Energy building, consider to be one of the finest office properties in suburban Houston, is located at 10000 Energy Drive, near Interstate 45. The building, within walking distance of the 3 million SF Exxon Mobil campus, is just north of the Grand Parkway,

The Southwestern Energy building is located about 5 miles south of The Woodlands.

The Woodlands office submarket is the healthiest of Houston’s major office hubs, Colliers said. Class A properties in The Woodlands office submarket boast a 90.3 percent occupancy rate and a higher than average asking rental rate. Year-to-date net absorption is positive, unlike the majority of the other office submarkets and leasing activity remains steady, Colliers reports.
