Energy Firm Moving Headquarters to Memorial City

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Callon Petroleum Company has leased 107,171 SF of office space in West Houston’s Memorial City for its new corporate headquarters.

The independent oil and natural gas company will relocate in the second half of 2024 into a new nine-story building developed by MetroNational, developer of the 300-acre Memorial City, a mixed-used development located along Interstate 10 in West Houston.

Callon Petroleum is relocating from the One Briar  Lake Plaza building in the Westchase District.

“Callon has been committed to finding an office space where our team could collaborate in an enjoyable work environment, have an abundance of accessible amenities and optimize their commutes,” said Joe Gatto, President and Chief Executive Officer of Callon Petroleum Company. “After a year-long search, we found an office building that exceeds our expectations.”

Joseph Peddie and Morgan Relyea Colt of Cushman & Wakefield represented Callon Petroleum in the lease.

Brad MacDougall and Warren Alexander with MetroNational represented MetroNational.

MetroNational began construction of the building, 9753 Katy Freeway, in 2019. Construction was suspended for about two years as the Covid outbreak curbed economic activity across the globe.

“Since 9753 Katy Freeway is now fully leased, we are already planning for the development of another office building in Memorial City,” said Jason Johnson, President of MetroNational. “Callon’s commitment to leasing more than 100,000 SF of office space is a testament to the power of Memorial City’s office market.”

Located east of the Energy Corridor and Beltway 8,, Memorial City contains 10 million SF of developed real estate, including office space; the Memorial City Mall and other retail; high rise and midrise apartments; restaurants; hotels; and a hospital complex. Memorial City, owned and managed by MetroNational, is located along Interstate 10 near Gessner and Bunker Hill roads.

Other new Memorial City office tenants include: Asset Living, BW Energy USA Management Inc., Rystad Energy, Longbridge Financial, LLC and Marubeni America Corp.

MetroNational was founded in 1954. Kirksey is the architect of the 9753 Katy Freeway building.
