THE WOODLANDS – Two new mid-rise office buildings  being developed in the The Woodlands will be leased almost entirely by Exxon Mobil, according to published reports.

The two buildings, containing a total of 650,000 sf, will be in addition to the new Exxon Mobil campus, which is under construction just south of The Woodlands in Harris County.

The two additional Exxon Mobil buildings will be in Hughes Landing section located on the east side of Lake Woodlands between Grogan’s Mill Road and Lake Woodlands Drive.  Exxon Mobil will lease a 317,000-sf office building there and half of a 332,000-sf adjacent building, according to The Courier newspaper of Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County Commissioners have approved a tax abatement program for the Exxon Mobil buildings and the energy firm will bring 1,430 new jobs to Montgomery County, the Courier reported.

In addition to the Hughes Landing project, Exxon Mobil is constructing a massive 20-building, 3 million-sf complex a few miles south of The Woodlands. The Exxon Mobil campus, where more than 10,000 will be employed is located in Springwoods Village at Interstate 45 and the Hardy Toll Road in Harris County.
