HOUSTON –  The Hines real estate firm  has been retained to manage one of the last Art Deco buildings constructed in Houston, the former City National Bank building at McKinney and Main in downtown Houston.

At 23 stories, the building is overshadowed by skyscrapers twice its size today.  But when it was built in 1947, the tower was a key hub for commerce and finance.  The landmark Art Deco building, designed by Alfred C. Finn, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The office tower, now known by its address, 1001 McKinney, is 79 percent leased with tenants including tenant roster including:  Conley Rose; Kelley Kronenburg; McGlinchy Stafford; Shannon Martin Finkelstein Alvarado; and Thorpe Petroleum.

The 375,000-sf building is owned by Silver Peak and Cameron Real Estate. “Our property management team will be hyper focused on repositioning this asset and creating significant value for ownership,” added Hines Senior Managing Director Charles Elder.

Hines Director of Property Management Rob Bridges said, “1001 McKinney has been a strong performer for decades and we are extremely pleased that Silver Peak and Cameron Real Estate see the value in our comprehensive property management services. Many owners think we only manage our own buildings, but half of our global portfolio is managed for third parties.”

Hines’ Nicole Boudreau will serve as the on-site property manager. With offices in 111 cities in 18 countries, and controlled assets valued at $25.2 billion, Hines is one of the largest real estate organizations in the world.
