HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Sysco To Go, a new small format store by food distribution giant Sysco Corp.,, has opened its second location near NRG Stadium. The initial pilot store debuted in west Houston in May.
Designed to offer convenience and value to restaurants and small businesses, the store occupies a former Sprouts Farmers Market at 1212 Old Spanish Trail near the Texas Medical Center. The “Restaurant Club” is open to businesses that sign up for a free membership, offering bulk merchandise such as produce, meat, frozen foods, rice, food containers, and canned goods.
“We are excited to be opening our second Sysco To Go location in a vibrant area surrounded by so many diverse businesses, including food trucks, caterers, and independent restaurants,” said Victoria Gutierrez, Sysco’s Senior Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer. “At Sysco, we are continuously looking at ways to reach and serve our communities and customers. Sysco To Go addresses the unique needs of small businesses and foodservice establishments looking for Sysco’s quality, fresh assortment of products, at a great value in smaller pack sizes with no order minimums and same-day purchase options.”
The first Sysco To Go opened in a former Bed, Bath & Beyond at 10515 Katy Freeway near Beltway 8. The two stores combined employ 100 people, according to Sysco.
At midyear, Houston retail centers had a 95.5% occupancy rate, according to Weitzman.

Its customers include restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, hotels, churches, and more. Sysco has 340 distribution centers, including a newly opened facility in Tampa Bay, Fla.
