AUSTIN – CBRE announced the sale of 42.1 acres in Northeast Austin, Texas, to Charlotte, N.C.-based Hopper Communities. The regional residential developer purchased the tract from Sealy & Company for an undisclosed price.
Greg Marberry, with CBRE in Austin, represented the seller.
John Swanson, Hopper Communities Texas Partner, saw an opportunity for single-family residential at the site and rezoned the property from industrial use.
“The market has overlooked this area in the past, but convenience to nearby shopping, entertainment, and employment, and easy access to Interstate 35 for downtown Austin commuters attracted us to this particular location. Convenience is crucial for today’s working families, and this property has it,” said Mr. Swanson.
Heatherwilde Boulevard and Wells Branch Parkway border the site, connecting travelers to several major Austin arterials, including Parmer Lane, Farm to Market 1825, Interstate Highway 35 and State Highway 130.
