HOUSTON – Midway Cos. announced that Hotel Alessandra – a 223-room upscale hotel under construction in downtown Houston – has topped out.
The 20-story hotel, developed in partnership in conjunction the Valencia Group, a Houston-based hotel firm, will be open in mid-2017.
Hotel Alessandra is part of Midway’s GreenStreet mixed-use development, which covers three blocks in downtown Houston along Dallas Street, near Fannin.
Owned by a partnership of Midway and Lionstone, GreenStreet is a 570,000 SF mixed-use destination located in the heart of downtown Houston, featuring three-city blocks of office, shopping, dining and entertainment options, as well as The Lawn, a central open air green space. GreenStreet also is home to III Forks, McCormick & Schmick’s, House of Blues, Lucky Strike and the regional headquarters offices of the NRG energy firm.
GreenStreet has more than 90,000 square feet of collaborative-class office space with easy access to the METRO rail.
The Hotel Alessandra is not the first hotel for a Midway/Valencia partnership.
Midway and the Valencia Group have received a great deal of acclaim for CityCentre, a mixed-use project near the intersection of the Katy Freeway and the Sam Houston Tollway, near the Memorial area of West Houston. CityCentre has office, multifamily, townhomes, shops, restaurants and Hotel Sorella, which is operated by the Valencia Group. Hotel Sorella, a Condé Nast Gold List hotel which opened in 2009, commands some of the highest nightly rates in Houston.
