HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Sienna Plantation, with 292 new home sales, led the Houston area in home sales in the first half of 2018, according to a midyear report by RCLCO real estate advisors.
Sienna Plantation, a Johnson Development community located in the Missouri City area, ranked as the 15th best-selling community in the nation in the RCLCO report.
Bridgeland, a Howard Hughes Corp. development on the northwest side, had 260 new home sales to rank No. 22. Johnson Development’s Cross Creek Ranch near Fulshear ranked No. 25 in the nation with 246 sales.
Other Houston communities to make RCLCO’s Top 50 include: No. 27 Aliana with 236 sales; No. 30 Harmony with 234 sales; Lago Mar with 207 sales; The Woodlands with 202 sales; Woodforest with 200 sales; Rivrstone with 189 sales; Tamarron with 183 sales; and Towne Lake with 178 sales.
The No. 1 master planned community in the nation was The Villages, near Orlando, which was projected to record 1,115 sales.
“Home sales at the nation’s 50 top-selling MPCs were strong in the first half of 2018, with a total increase of nearly 7% over the first half of 2017. On average, communities on this year’s list experienced approximately 16% growth in sales over the same time period last year,” according to the RCLCO report by Todd LaRue and Karl Pischke.
Texas, Florida, and California account for 62% of total sales among the 50 top-selling communities.
Lakewood Ranch near Sarasota, Fla., with 826 sales ranked No. 2 in the nation; Summerlin, a Howard Hughes community near Las Vegas, had 772 new home sales to ranked No. 3.
