Knock Enters Texas Market

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Knock, an Atlanta-based real estate technology company that helps homeowners buy their next home before selling their current one, announced the expansion of its Knock Bridge Loan to Texas, one of the nation’s top housing markets.

The company’s bridge loans enable qualifying homeowners to unlock the equity in their current home to put toward a new home. The Knock Bridge Loans, which differ from traditional bridge loans that are treated as debt and count against a buyer’s debt-to-income ratio, allow borrowers to qualify for a larger mortgage and make an offer on a new home that is not contingent on the sale of their current home. Under the process, Knock makes a purchase offer to buy the old house if it doesn’t sell in six months.

“Many Texas homeowners have seen the equity in their homes increase significantly and we’re excited to give them a way to put that equity to work when they’re ready for their next move,” said Knock Co-Founder and CEO Sean Black. “The Knock Bridge Loan gives homeowners the ability to buy before they sell, making their offers more competitive while giving them the flexibility to move on their own timeline. For lenders and real estate professionals, it creates a better way to serve clients who might otherwise be stuck waiting to sell before they can buy.”

Homeowners taking out a Knock Bridge Loan can access equity in their current home that can be used toward a down payment, pay down debt, prepare a home for sale, or make mortgage payment on the existing home for up to six months.

Knock partners with lenders and real estate agents to facilitate the home buying process. After expanding to Delaware, South Dakota, Louisiana, Iowa, Wyoming, and Texas this year, Knock is available through its relationships with thousands of lenders and agents in 32 states and the District of Columbia.
