PEARLAND, Texas – (Realty News Report) – United Imaging has executed a full-building headquarters lease in Pearland for a major expansion of its U.S. manufacturing operations.
The global medical imaging company will house manufacturing, research and development, and warehousing operations in the 216,000-SF building at 11550 N. Spectrum Blvd. at Kirby Drive, according to an announcement by the Pearland Economic Development Corporation.
Brennan Investment Group developed the building in Pearland’s Lower Kirby district and leased it to United Imaging, which expects to take occupancy in late 2025. The expansion will occur in phases over the next two years, ultimately bringing up to 185 employees to a growing hub for biotech and life science manufacturers in Pearland, according to Pearland EDC.
Pearland’s Lower Kirby District Grows with Pharma and Medical Device Manufacturing
Located near the southwest corner of Highway 288 and Beltway 8 just south of Houston, Lower Kirby is home to Lonza, Abbott, Merit Medical, and Millar, to create a significant collection of pharma and medical-device manufacturing facilities.
The Kirby Drive in Pearland does not extend north of Beltway 8. But long-term planning maps in Harris County have etched out route concepts for connecting the Pearland Kirby Drive with the Houston’s Kirby Drive south of the Astrodome, which is close to the Texas Medical Center.
‘Proud to Be Anchor Tenant’ in Pearland’s Life Science District
The new United Imagining facility will add to the company’s manufacturing operations at its current North American headquarters on Kirby Drive near Holmes Road, just south of Loop 610. United Imaging provides molecular imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), digital radiography, and radiotherapy solutions.
“Houston has been a special home for us since 2019, where we welcome healthcare providers to our facilities from all over the U.S. and all over the world,” said Jeffrey M. Bundy, CEO of United Imaging Healthcare North America. “The expansion of our local production is important for us to continue to stay ahead of continuously growing customer demand for our technology; the additional space in Pearland gives us the strategic location and capabilities we need this year. We appreciate Houston and Pearland’s commitment to advancing life science manufacturing and are proud to be an anchor tenant.”
