AUSTIN – (Realty News Report) – Home construction is beginning at Homestead at Old Settlers Park, a 178-acre master-planned community located north of Austin in the Round Rock community.
Austin is considered one of the fastest growing markets in the nation, a top spot for relocations coming out of California. Oracle Corp. recently moved its headquarters from California to Austin and Tesla is constructing a 4 million-SF plant there.
Tri Pointe Homes one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S. that previously operated Texas for over 50 years under the name Trendmaker Homes, and Meritage Homes a top 10 national homebuilder, will build the homes in the project.
Tri Pointe will build a total of 217 single-family homes on 50-foot lots and 70-foot lots, and Meritage will build 263 homes on 45-foot lots in the new community, which is located just north of Hwy. 79 and adjacent to Old Settlers Park in east Round Rock.
Developed by Meritage Homes, Homestead at Old Settlers Park will offer recreational areas, trails and more than 20 acres of parkland.

Catering to young families, first-time buyers and empty nesters, Tri Pointe Homes houses will range in size from 1,800 square feet to 3,200 square feetincluding three to five bedrooms, two to three and a half bathrooms and two-car garages. Meritage Homes’ offerings will range from 1,450 to 2,800 square feet with three to four bedrooms, two to three baths, two-car garages and covered rear patios.
The community is located adjacent to the 400-plus-acre Old Settlers Park and within walking distance to the Dell Diamond baseball complex.
The initial model homes are expected to be completed in July.
