Texas Jewelry District Buys Westheimer Office Tower

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Texas Jewelry District LP has acquired Westheimer Central Plaza, a 182,506-SF office building in the Westchase area, Colliers reports.

The 10-story building is located at 11200 Westheimer Road, one block west of Beltway 8.

James Kadlick, Chris Hutcheson, and Harrison Kane of Colliers represented the buyer, Texas Jewelry District LP, in the transaction.

The seller was Silver Star CRE LLC, a firm with historic ties to the Al Hartman real estate organization.

“This acquisition reflects the long-term confidence in the Westchase area,” said James Kadlick of Colliers. “Westheimer Central Plaza is a prominent property in a location that continues to attract both local and national companies.”

The buyer, Texas Jewelry District LP,  is a partnership affiliated with Mr. Jaqmeet Mann, known as a wholesale jeweler with a location in The Jewelry Building, which adjacent to the PlazAmericas mall, formerly known as Sharpstown Mall, in southwest Houston.

The Jewelry Building is a 10-story structure occupied by a diverse group of independent diamond brokers and small businesses dealing in gold, imported silver, precious gems, and watches; diamond and jewelry appraisers, and specialists that create unique pieces of jewelry. The ground floor of the building, 7500 Bellaire Boulevard, is occupied by a number of jewelry retailers.

The PlazAmericas mall, a former regional mall that opened in the 1960s, is now a thriving 850,000-SF marketplace with high occupancy and independent stores, retailers with imported merchandise, and startup restaurants catering to Houston’s immigrant population.
