HOUSTON – The 1,200-room Hilton Americas-Houston is opening a gigantic Starbucks that will one of the first Starbucks to offer the new “Starbucks Evening” service with alcoholic beverages.
After 4 p.m., wine, beer, appetizer-type food and desserts will be sold at the downtown hotel coffee shop, which is adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center. The 4,000-square-foot Starbucks will be designed to be visible and welcoming to pedestrians outside the hotel, said Dawn Ullrich, president of Houston First.
Houston First Corp., owns the Hilton and manages more than 10 city-owned buildings, plazas and parking facilities, is expanding the retail and restaurant options near the convention center. Houston realty companies led by
Ed Wulfe and Fred Griffin are working on the retail effort.
