(People in Real Estate from Realty News Report) – SAN FRANCISCO – CBRE has appointed industry veteran Laura Barr as Americas Retail Leader for its Advisory & Transaction Services. In this role, Ms. Barr is responsible for CBRE’s Retail leasing growth strategy and client delivery across the firm’s retail leasing professionals, who were responsible for more than $11.1 billion in transactions in 2022. For the past decade, Ms. Barr has been a retail leader within CBRE’s San Francisco office.


HOUSTON – Kevin Holland has joined Edge Realty Capital Markets. Holland had been with Cushman & Wakefield and was with CBRE earlier in his career.


SURFSIDE, Texas – Texas-based agent Kenny Purswell has been named an Associate Broker at Beach Homes Realty – a national beach-focused real estate company. Purswell will specialize in beach homes and land on and around Surfside Beach on Follett’s Island, Galveston Island, and Crystal Beach on Bolivar Peninsula. Led by Glenn S. Phillips, Beach Homes Realty (Beach-Homes.com) is a licensed brokerage in 14 states and is expanding into additional states. The Alabama-based firm has a sister brokerage, Lake Homes Realty.


COLUMBIA, Md., – Howard Hughes Holdings announced that Kristi Smith has been named President of the company’s Maryland region, where she will lead the continued growth and revitalization of Downtown Columbia. Smith is a seasoned commercial real estate development and investment leader who brings 20 years of experience with a focus in the Washington, D.C. metro region.


HOUSTON – Kim Ngan Ho has been named land acquisitions manager at David Weekley Homes.


DALLAS – Paige Shipp has been named director of land acquisition at HistoryMaker Homes. She had been with Insite Brokerage in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.


HOUSTON – Andrea Riebeling and Beth Buford have been named the founding agents of a Farm & Ranch Division of  Nan & Co. Properties, a Houston-based firm founded by Nancy Almodovar.


HOUSTON – Jack Britton was named director, debt and equity placement at JLL Capital Markets.


HOUSTON – Robert LaCoure, Jill Nesloney and Bryce Adams have joined Cushman & Wakefield. They will be based in the firm’s downtown Houston office in Texas Tower as part of the office agency leasing team. LaCoure joins as Senior Director, Nesloney joins as Director and Adams joins as an Associate.


DALLAS – JLL announced that Paula Whitman has joined the Dallas office as Vice President within the Healthcare and Life Sciences division, where she will specialize in Healthcare Brokerage.


ATLANTA –  Caroline Fisher has joined JLL’s Atlanta office as senior vice president of the office agency leasing team.


MINNEAPOLIS – Dominium, a leading affordable housing owner, developer and manager has hired two executives. Shequoia Holloway has been named Vice President of Property Management for Dominium’s portfolio in its Southeast region, and Rita Collins has been named Vice President of Property Management for the company’s Texas portfolio.


IRVINE, Calif. – NewPoint Real Estate Capital has added Laurie Morfin as Senior Managing Director and David Bleiweiss as Managing Director to its originations team.
