Pulte Starts 145-Home Gated Community Near Loop 610

Pulte’s new community is just south of Loop 610.

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Pulte Homes is planning an 11-acre, gated townhome community called Avondale on Main Street, just south of Loop 610 near the Astrodome.

The Pulte site is located at the corner of South Main and West Bellfort, near the property that was once considered for a data institute by the University of Texas.

Pulte’s Avondale develop will have 145 homes priced around the $300,000s. Construction will start this fall and model homes will open in the first quarter of 2020.

The community will have two- and three-story homes ranging from 1,490 SF to 2,618 SF.

Townhome pioneer Frank Liu of Lovett Homes has been active in the South Main area, which has been overlooked for decades although it is close to the Texas Medical Center. For decades, Liu’s organization has demonstrated the ability to locate parcels for residential development in infill areas that have been bypassed and forgotten.

Located close to the Pulte project, the University of Texas property is about two or three miles due south of the upscale West University Place community, in addition to being close to the Texas Medical Center, where more 100,000 people are employed. More than 10,000 employees at the Texas Medical Center hold PhD degrees or are medical doctors.
