Wind Turbine Maker Leases Distribution Center in Brookshire

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Vestas-American Wind Technology, a maker of wind turbines, will occupy a new building at Enterprise Park at Twinwood in Brookshire, joining a growing number of alternative energy manufacturers taking industrial space the Houston area.

The company leased a 131,300-SF Class A warehouse and office facility to support its spare parts distribution and operations across North America. Vestas-American Wind Technology is the North American division of Vestas, a Danish provider of sustainable energy solutions and one of the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturers. The company designs, manufactures, installs, and services wind energy systems, helping customers generate renewable energy.

The 17-acre property is about a mile south of Woods Road at Interstate 10, near the intersection of Discovery Hills Parkway and Enterprise Center.

JLL’s Graham Horton, Cayla Wardenburg, and Eric Turner represented Vestas-American Wind Technology in the transaction. Billy Gold and Faron Wiley of CBRE represented the landlord, Twinwood Industrial Owner LLC,  which is affiliated with Panatonni Development.

“The Houston area continues to be an attractive location for companies looking to strengthen their supply chain and distribution operations,” said Louis Rosenthal, Executive Managing Director at JLL. “This facility gives Vestas the space and strategic location needed to support its spare parts network across North America, and we’re proud to have helped the company find a solution that supports its long-term operational goals.”

The Brookshire facility supports the growing demand for the company’s wind energy systems.

“JLL took the time to understand how our operations function and what we needed from a distribution facility,” said Bart Blakely-Henderson, Head of Real Estate and FM AME, LATAM. “Their guidance throughout the site selection process helped us identify a location that supports our business today while providing flexibility for future growth.”

Enterprise Park at Twinwood is in a region of West Houston with a growing demand from energy, manufacturing, and logistics tenants. Industrial tenants in the area include Rooms to Go, Ross, Medline, and Igloo.

The Houston area’s industrial vacancy rate fell slightly over the quarter to 6.8% in Q2 as leasing volume reached 10.1 million square feet, according to JLL.

Demand remained strong in both distribution and manufacturing, according to JLL. Multiple full-building leases exceeding 300,000 square feet drove the occupancy gains.

Based in Denmark, Vestas expanded its U.S. operations with the opening of a downtown Houston office in 2025. The company has offices in Portland, Ore. and Boston and manufacturing facilities in Colorado in Brighton and Windsor.
