Wood Partners Breaks Ground on Apartments

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Wood Partners has broken ground on Alta Timberline, a 204-unit multifamily development in Tomball in northwest Harris County.

The community, which will have seven three-story buildings, is expected to be completed in May 2027.

Wood Partners, which is based in Atlanta, has more than two dozen multifamily communities across the Lone Star State.

Alta Timberline sits at the transition between Houston’s urban fabric and the piney woods of Northwest Harris County.

“This project reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality housing in locations that give residents direct access to community offerings, while also providing premium amenities and thoughtful design,” said Bart Barrett, managing director at Wood Partners. “Tomball continues to see strong demand from consumers who want quick access to Houston while still enjoying a more open, neighborhood-oriented environment. Working alongside the City, we’re looking forward to delivering much-needed housing to the area.”

Apartment construction slowed in Houston in 2025 as the industry faced higher construction costs and interest rates. But a number of new multifamily projects broke ground.

Boilerplate: Wood Partners has been involved in the acquisition and development of more than 115,000 multifamily homes with a combined capitalization of $24 billion. The company currently owns more than 80 properties with 25,000 units across the United States. Wood Partners has offices in 17 markets is consistently ranked as one of the five largest multifamily developers in the nation.
