Big Lease at 15,000-Acre Industrial Park

BAYTOWN – (Realty News Report) – Supply Chain Management, LLC has committed to a full-building lease at TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park in Baytown, paving the way for the construction of the next spec building.

Developer TGS Cedar Port Partners secured the tenant for TGS Cedar Port DC 9, a 420,510-SF cross-dock building under construction on 23 acres at 5300 E. McKinney Road. The building will have a 50-foot curtain wall glazing on three corners, 40-foot clear height, LED lighting, 185-foot truck courts, and ample parking for cars and trailers.

Based in Savannah, Ga., Supply Chain Management provides warehousing, intermodal trucking and drayage, and freight forwarding & customs brokerage services.

“We are thrilled to welcome Supply Chain Management, LLC to TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park,” said James Scott, President of TGS Cedar Port Partners. “The pre-leasing of DC 9 is a strong indicator of market confidence and reinforces Cedar Port’s position as a top-tier hub for logistics and distribution in the Gulf Coast region.”

Located 35 miles east of downtown Houston, Cedar Port is among the nation’s largest industrial parks with more than 25 million square feet of industrial and manufacturing space on the ground. The park offers both rail and barge access.

TGS Cedar Port Partners, which owns over 4 million square feet in the development, has broken ground on DC 10. The 420,510-SF building is being marketing the building for sale or lease by Partners Real Estate.

Spanning 15,000 acres, Cedar Port has expanded its railcar capacity to over 5,500 railcars and an additional 1,000 railcar spaces are under development. The park is served by Union Pacific and BNSF. Over 10,000 acres are available for sale, lease, or build-to-suit development, according to TGS Cedar Port Partners.
