HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, a sports bar with Cajun cuisine backed by former NFL quarterback Drew Brees, is expanding in the Houston suburbs with upcoming locations in Cypress and New Caney.
A Cypress location is planned in the Towne Lake master planned community on Houston’s northwest side. A waterfront space at 9955 Barker Cypress Road in The Boardwalk at Towne Lake will be remodeled for a new Walk-On’s Sport Bistro with completion targeted by the end of March 2026, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The space was previously occupied by Sam’s Boat.
Walk-on’s and developer Signorelli Co. recently announced the restaurant’s second Montgomery County location with the signing of a 7,879-SF lease at 22276 Market Place Drive in Valley Ranch Town Center in New Caney. Opening is planned in late Spring 2026.
“We’re excited to introduce Walk-On’s to the Valley Ranch community and are confident it will be the go-to place where sports fans and families can come together, enjoy unique, high-quality Cajun dishes and have a great time,” said Greg Wattson, Senior Vice President of Commercial Development at Signorelli Co. “As Valley Ranch continues to expand its entertainment options, Walk-On’s is an ideal addition, combining Louisiana flavor and a great place to watch your favorite teams.”
Walk-On’s currently has six locations in the Houston area, including one in Conroe. Others are in in Spring, Katy, Webster, La Porte, and Baytown. It entered the market five years ago.
Named ESPN’s #1 Sports Bar in America in 2012, Walk-On’s restaurants feature scores of big screen TVs for gameday viewing. The menu includes Cajun and Creole dishes such as gumbo, fried alligator bites, pepperjack boudin, burgers, wings, craft beer and cocktails.
“We’re thrilled to become part of this fast-growing community and now offer Montgomery County residents and visitors two locations to experience an authentic taste of Louisiana cuisine,” said Brett Gunn, franchisee of Walk-On’s at Valley Ranch.
Boilerplate: Backed by former New Orleans Saints NFL quarterback Drew Brees, the growing Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux sports bar and restaurant chain was founded in Baton Rouge by Louisiana State University walk-on basketball players Brandon Landry and Jack Warner in 2003. Drew Brees became a partner in 2015 as the chain began expanding across the company through franchising. Based in Atlanta, Walk-On’s has nearly 80 locations, including 19 in Texas.
