KATY, Texas – (Realty News Report) – Primark, an international fashion retailer founded in Ireland in 1969, is opening its first Houston area store in Katy Mills as part of its expansion across the U.S.
With a focus on affordable, trendy, and sustainable clothing, Primark has grown to more than 470 stores globally including more than 30 in the U.S. The company announced a November 20th grand opening with music, giveaways, and treats during the weekend for the new store at 5000 Katy Mills Circle.
Totaling nearly 40,000 SF, the new store is be adjacent to H&M, another global fashion chain. It is one of 17 upcoming locations planned in Texas, New York, Minnesota, Florida, and Georgia, according to the company. Primark opened its first U.S. store in Boston 10 years ago.
Primark is one of several global retailers that have expanded to Houston in recent years following Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo in 2024 and Spanish fashion brand Mango in 2023. The merchandise mix includes men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, beauty, and homeware. Prices start at $12 for women’s denim and $5 for men’s tees, according to Primark.
A fourth Texas store is set to open before the holidays in Grapevine Mills in Grapevine near Dallas on December 4. Other Texas locations are open in McAllen and El Paso.
Early next year, Primark is expected to complete work on a 43,649-SF store being built out in Willowbrook Mall in northwest Houston, according to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation.
Katy Mills, a property of Simon Property Group, contains 170 shops and restaurants including AMC Theatres, Ross, Burlington, Bass Pro Shops, The Cheesecake Factory, and Rainforest Café. The mall marked its 25th anniversary last year.
In other mall activity at Katy Mills, P.F. Chang’s is planning a new location. Build-out of the 6,820-SF modern Asian restaurant with a covered outdoor patio is expected to begin in February 2026 with completion planned in September 2026, according to state filings. P.F. Chang’s has locations in the Galleria area, The Woodlands, Willowbrook, Westchase, Baybrook Mall, and Sugar Land.
