HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Hunington Residential announced it has five new multifamily projects in its development pipeline, on the heels of selling one of its Vic-branded apartment communities in Katy.
Hunington Residential is an arm of Houston-based Hunington Properties Inc., a retail center, commercial real estate, and development firm led by Sandy Aron, who founded the company 40 years ago.
“Looking ahead, Hunington Residential is actively advancing five additional multifamily communities, reflecting the continued expansion of its development platform across the region,” Hunington Residential announced last week.
New multifamily projects in the pipeline include: The Vic at Sunterra | The Providence Edition, which is slated to break ground in September. It will be followed in early 2027 by The Vic at Tamarron and The Vic at Lago Mar. Two more unnamed apartment projects are planned.
Hunington Residential just sold The Vic at Jordan Ranch, a 365-unit, 302,619-SF multifamily community located at 2011 Texas Heritage Parkway in Katy. It was 92% occupied.
The buyer was Orix Capital Markets. Jaleel Adatia, Chip Nash, Bob Heard, and Nolan Mainguy of Colliers represented the seller in the transaction.
“The growth taking place in and around Jordan Ranch has made this part of the Katy and Fulshear area increasingly attractive for multifamily investment,” said Adatia of Colliers. “The sale of The Vic at Jordan Ranch highlights the depth of investor demand for high quality multifamily assets in strong growth markets.”
Population growth, home building, and retail opportunities have increased rapidly in the West Houston area in recent years. Hunington Properties has developed a significant amount of retail space in the area.
A prime part of the West Houston explosion, the Fulshear community, for example, has experienced 247% population growth since 2018,
Hunington Residential has completed six multifamily communities across the Greater Houston area — three of which — Vargos on the Lake, The Vic at Southwinds and The Vic at Jordan Ranch — have been successfully sold.
“This consistent pace of development and disposition reflects the firm’s disciplined approach to site selection, capital partnerships and asset management, and mirrors the rapid expansion Hunington Properties continues to see across its other commercial real estate verticals,” Hunington said.
“The sale of The Vic at Jordan Ranch represents an important achievement for our organization, and our upcoming developments demonstrate our continued commitment to thoughtfully serving the Greater Houston region alongside our equity and joint venture partners,” said Kate Good, Partner, SVP Multifamily Development and Operations at Hunington Residential.
