STAMFORD, Conn.– Starwood Hotels announced plans to open nine  Aloft brand hotels in Texas over the next three years.

Starwood will add three more hotels in the Houston area, two in Austin, three in Dallas-Fort Worth, and open its first in College Station.

In downtown Houston, a 165-room Aloft will open in the redeveloped  Stowers Furniture building, a historic building on Fannin Street.

“Aloft is gaining considerable momentum across Texas, fueled by rising demand for high-quality lodging in a number of the state’s fastest growing cities,” said Allison Reid, Senior Vice President of North America Development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. “The distinct design aesthetic and lively social atmosphere offered by Aloft is proving to be a hit with travelers, which in turn has generated a buzz in the development community throughout North America and beyond.”
