Trademark Plans Major Development

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Trademark Property Co. is planning a mixed-use development that  could bring a large retail center, apartments, a hotel and office space to Dunham Pointe, a 1,330-acre new community near Highway 290 in northwest Houston.

Fort Worth-based Trademark, led by CEO Terry  Montesi, has developed a number of mixed-use projects in Texas and other states, has contracted to acquire 37 acres for the new development.

The Dunham Pointe organization was founded by Texas oilman Archie W. Dunham, the former Conoco and ConocoPhillips CEO, who also served as Chairman of Chesapeake Energy.

Trademark’s retail and mixed-use development will encompass approximately 225,000 SF of retail space and 500 multifamily residences, along with the potential to incorporate office uses and hotel facilities. Trademark will collaborate with the developers of the master planned project – along with residential builders — to create a connected and walkable community.

The community is located in the heart of Cypress at the intersection of Highway 290 and Mason Road.

The Lincoln Square redevelopment by Trademark was discussed at the NAREE conference in Atlanta.

“We will apply our more than 30 years of experience in mixed-use development and placemaking to create a central gathering place for this special community,” said Jeff Johnson, Managing Director of Development for Trademark. “The population growth and affluence in Cypress, combined with the picturesque landscape and prime location of Dunham Pointe, make this an excellent opportunity for a mixed-use project. With every new market, we come as listeners first, and we look forward to engaging with the Cypress community to learn about the kinds of experiences they’d like to see here.”

Over a year ago, when construction started at Dunham Pointe, it was announced Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Tri Pointe Homes and Toll Brothers would be building houses in the community.

Trademark has invested in, developed, or redeveloped 21 million SF of mixed-use, multifamily, and retail assets worth $4.6 billion, including Market Street in The Woodlands.
