DALLAS – (Realty News Report) – One of the most sustainable office campuses to be built in Texas recently actually produces more energy than it uses.
Wells Fargo’s two-building, 850,000-square-foot corporate campus in Irving was designed to accommodate 4,500 employees in a collaborative environment.
Global architecture firm Corgan designed the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certified project to be the largest net-positive corporate campus in the United States. Corgan was just recognized with the CoreNet Global 2026 Sustainable Leadership Award for delivering an integrated low-carbon design solution for architecture and sustainability.
“Wells Fargo set an ambitious sustainability target, and together we showed what’s possible when environmental performance is truly a design driver,” Varun Kohli, Principal and Director of Sustainability at Corgan, said in an announcement. “By combining net-positive energy strategies with human-centered design, Wells Fargo’s campus demonstrates that sustainability is not a constraint on design excellence — it elevates it.”
Wells Fargo’s Las Colinas campus, which opened in October, is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows to take advantage of natural light. A high-performance envelope including glazing that adjusts the tint level depending on the sunlight, 360,000 square feet of solar panels, and high-efficiency building systems allow the campus to generate more energy on-site than it consumes. The solar panels sit atop the roofs of the two, 10-story buildings and the parking garage. The nearby lake is used for irrigation.

CoreNet Global, an association for corporate real estate professionals with 10,000 members worldwide, will present the award to Corgan at its 2026 CoreNet Global North America Summit in Chicago in October. Corgan is also being considered for the organization’s Global Innovator’s Award.
Wells Fargo partnered with KDC Real Estate Development & Investments on the regional campus, which consolidated 14 area locations. It was built by Austin Commercial. Telios worked on the project’s renewal energy design and solar installation.
San Francisco-based Wells Fargo has 205,000 employees worldwide, including 17,000 in Texas.
Founded in 1938, Corgan has 22 locations and more than 1,400 employees globally.
