HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Hines, famous for developing skyscrapers around the world, has developed a 110-acre community in suburban Tomball where Taylor Morrison home builders will construct the homes.
The new community is called Raburn Reserve. Located about 30 miles northwest of Houston, the new community is located north of the Grand Parkway near Highway 249.
Taylor Morrison, ranked as the nation’s fifth largest homebuilder, announced Thursday it has purchased 391 lots in Raburn Reserve.
Taylor Morrison homes priced from the $300s and ranging in size from 1,700- 3,100 SF will be constructed. Construction commences on model homes in August.
“Raburn Reserve is in an incredible location just five minutes from both the Grand Parkway and Tomball Parkway,” said Todd Rasmussen, Taylor Morrison Division President for Houston. “We’re thrilled to be selected for this development and offer homes to meet the demand for move-up buyers and empty nesters. With such a low inventory in the Houston market, we expect this community to be extremely popular given its location and easy access.”
The first phase of Raburn Reserve will include more than 130 homes.
Taylor Morrison will offer a variety of one and two-story floor plans with generous square footage, open concept living areas, secondary bedrooms downstairs, flex space, as well as options for five-six bedrooms and three-four car garages. All homes also include LiveWell, a suite of home features and products that focus on clean air, clean water, and a reduction of harmful chemicals in your home.
Home sales hit high record highs this year. Home builders have reported shortages of lots. Land sales have been sizzling across the nation as residential developers hurry to meet the demand. Mortgage rates remain below 3 percent for 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages. Home prices have reached record highs.
Tomball is named for U.S. Congressman Thomas Henry Ball, who moved to the Houston area in 1902 and was instrumental in the development of the Port of Houston.
Hines, founded in Houston in 1957 by Mr. Gerald D. Hines, has developed other communities. The most notable is the 9,700-acre First Colony, a master planned community on the southwest side of Houston in Fort Bend County. First Colony has about 14,000 single-family homes, according to Hines.
