MISSOURI CITY, Texas – (Realty News Report) – Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is planning a second clinic in Missouri City as part of its ongoing expansion in the Houston region.
The Houston-based clinic has signed a ground lease with NewQuest at Fort Bend Town Center in Missouri City and will break ground on a nearly 37,000-SF clinic later this year.
Kelsey-Seybold, which has more than 40 locations throughout the greater Houston area, has ground leased a 2.72-acre site in Phase II of Fort Bend Town Center. The entire development spans 180 acres on three corners at the intersection of TX 6 and Fort Bend Parkway.
The new Kelsey-Seybold clinic will be about 4 miles from the company’s Sienna Clinic at 7010 Highway 6 in Missouri City, which serves the Sienna and Riverstone communities. Opening is planned in 2026.
“We’re especially excited to welcome Kelsey-Seybold Clinic to the center, expanding access to high-quality healthcare and reinforcing our commitment to serving the daily needs of this growing region,” said Jay Sears, co-founder and managing partner of Houston-based NewQuest.
Fort Bend Town Center, a mixed-use project planned for more than one million square feet, is being developed in three phases. Phase I, anchored by a 102,000-SF Kroger, contains 58,000 SF of additional retail and is fully leased.
The new clinic will join tenants including Cinemark, Burlington, Ross, Five Below, James Avery, Petco, and Cava in Phase II, which is substantially leased up. A 40,000-square-foot EoS Fitness is planned to open this in 2026.
Phase III, which opened a 1,750-space METRO Park & Ride this year, is preleasing 200,000-SF of retail space. Sueba USA is building a 346-unit apartment complex in Phase III.
“We had a vision for Fort Bend Town Center in 2006,” Sears says. “It’s rewarding to see it come to fruition as this corridor matures.”
The Fort Bend Town Center location will be the fourth Kelsey-Seybold Clinic to be built in a NewQuest development, according to NewQuest. Last year, Kelsey-Seybold announced plans for a 54,000-SF clinic in The Grand at Aliana, a NewQuest project in a growing residential area of Richmond.
Kelsey-Seybold was founded by Dr. Mavis Kelsey in the Texas Medical Center in 1949.
In 1996, Jay Sears founded Sears Realty Company, a Houston based shopping center firm that merged with Quest Properties in 2001 to form NewQuest Properties, which is one of the largest shopping center developers in Texas.
